Marietta Dining Room Reveal: Layered, Expressive, and Intentional

There is a subtle power in a first impression. Before a word is spoken, a home begins to tell its story. In this Marietta project, the dining room was always meant to be that introduction. Yet when we first stepped inside, the space felt anything but.

Project Scope

During our discovery process, the homeowners revealed a personality that was vibrant, bold, and undeniably charismatic. This became our starting point. The dining room needed to evolve into a reflection of who they are, while setting the tone for the rest of the home.

Before, the space felt restrained. Builder-grade lighting, gray walls, and a dark blue ceiling created a room that lacked presence and clarity. More importantly, it lacked a genuine connection to the homeowners. The vision was to reimagine this dining room as a statement of arrival. A space that feels layered, expressive, and intentional from the moment you enter.

After: Creating a Sense of Arrival

While this project was dining room–focused, we began with the entryway to create a cohesive and intentional sense of arrival. The dining room does not exist in isolation. It is part of a larger, holistic design experience that begins the moment you step through the front door.

A striking wall treatment unfolds along the staircase, creating movement and guiding the eye upward. It establishes a sense of artistry and intention immediately. This moment was designed to feel curated yet effortless, offering a glimpse into the layers that continue throughout the home.

From there, the dining room comes into view. Together, these spaces create a seamless narrative. The entryway introduces, and the dining room deepens that story.

We began by redefining the architectural backdrop. A rich green textured wallcovering was introduced to envelop the room with depth and warmth. This choice anchors the space while allowing the furnishings and lighting to feel curated rather than competing.

At the center of the room, a glass dining table maintains openness and visual lightness, allowing the surrounding materials to take focus. The seating introduces contrast in a considered way. Soft neutral chairs are paired with deeper green tones, creating variation while maintaining cohesion. This interplay adds depth without overwhelming the space.

As the focal point, the mirror acts as more than a reflective surface. It serves as a sculptural element for the wall, anchoring the room with its form and presence while amplifying light. Flanking the mirror, the sconces introduce warmth and subtle texture. Their softly aged brass finish brings depth and a tactile quality, creating a rhythm along the wall that feels both refined and composed.

Overhead, the chandelier introduces movement and artistry, with softly formed glass elements that feel fluid and organic in their composition. Suspended from warm brass detailing, it brings a refined contrast while drawing the eye upward. We carefully calibrated its placement so that each element feels balanced and intentional.

As always, texture plays an equally important role. From the softness underfoot to the balance of matte and reflective finishes, each layer contributes to a space that feels complete and considered.

The transformation is not just visual. It is experiential. This space now unfolds with purpose, each space thoughtfully connected to the next. The entryway draws you in, and the dining room invites you to stay.
